A little help with your next take

Back to making music.

Start with the basics below. Keep a copy of your project before troubleshooting or removing the app.

Your first recording

  1. Open or create a project in LiteDAW.
  2. Tap Import to bring in a backing track from Files, if you want one.
  3. Add or select a vocal track and place the playhead where you want to begin.
  4. Tap Record and allow microphone access when iOS asks.
  5. Stop when you’re finished. Use the timeline and track controls to arrange and balance your take.

Common questions

Why is there no microphone recording?

Check microphone permission for LiteDAW in iOS Settings. Confirm the intended audio input and route, especially if you have connected an interface or headset. Select a vocal track before recording.

How do I bring in audio?

Tap Import in the main workspace and choose an audio file through the iOS document picker. Files stored with a cloud provider may need to download before they can be imported.

Why are some clip controls unavailable?

Split, Trim and fades require one editable clip. Mute and Delete can act on multiple selected clips. Split also needs a valid position inside the clip; Crossfade needs compatible clips with enough overlapping audio or source material.

How do I save and export?

Projects save locally as you work. Use Save as to write a portable project copy to Files. Use Export to render audio, then choose where to save or share it.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No LiteDAW account is required. Recording, editing and rendering happen locally. A cloud storage provider may need internet access to retrieve an imported file or save a shared export.
